Building of the Moritzberg "Bismarck" tower (Finished 1913)

On Saturday I took a train to Rothenbach and climed the
Moritzberg near Nürnberg
Really nice Bike ride (exausting climb) and 5 minutes of extreme downhill
Leeerooooy!!!

Above-The Tower (now called "Hindenberg Tower") on the peak of Moritzberg

Actually..
King Ludwig(builder of world famous "Neuschwanstein" castle- picture above) wanted to build
Wallhalla on the Moritzberg (Moritz Hill)
Instead a tower was built
It was called a "
Bismarck Tower" -a tribute to the founder of the German nation
Otto von Bismark
Nice trails..downhill in 5 minutes uphill in about an hour ;)
First cool downhill I've done since starting to bike more intensely
p.s. thats not me in the pic..I cant afford the snazzy latex clothes and aerodynamic helmet,
....thank goodness ;)
